Awards Contract to RFID Institute for the design and specification of RFID Sample Tracking System at Khumani Mine.Assmang has tasked the RFID Institute SA with the analysis and design of a complete RFID sample tracking system for their new Khumani Iron Ore Mine, situated in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.The design of the RFID sample tracking system involves customisation of tags and incorporates tracking of online, exploration and blasthole samples. All samples will be tracked through the robotic sample tower and customized processes of the Khumani laboratory, brainchild of Assmang´s chief analytical scientist, Dr Andre Fullard, who designed this fully automated laboratory, the first of its kind in the world.
